Pune, India | August 28, 2025– Sulzer has inaugurated a state-of-the-art pump testing and assembly facility in Mexico, further strengthening its growth strategy across the Americas. Moreover, the expansion enhances the company’s ability to serve critical sectors such as energy, water, and chemicals.
Situated next to Sulzer’s existing manufacturing plant in Cuautitlán Izcalli, the new facility features advanced equipment and a fully digital testing platform. A highlight is its 10-meter-deep hydraulics test bed. This test bed can handle flow rates up to 23,000 cubic meters per hour. Consequently, this investment enables Sulzer to deliver faster, more precise testing and efficient packaging solutions—all within a single, fully integrated site.
The facility has been designed to meet growing regional demand. Infrastructure projects are increasing in North and Central America, therefore driving a greater need for reliable and efficient pumping technology. Sulzer’s new site ensures these requirements can be met locally, reducing dependence on international operations.
The official launch event welcomed company executives, partners, and dignitaries. Suzanne Thoma, Executive Chairwoman of Sulzer, highlighted the importance of the investment. Following the ribbon-cutting, guests toured the facility and witnessed live demonstrations of the cutting-edge equipment. The hydraulics test bed—one of the largest in the region—demonstrated its ability to validate pump performance under real-world operating conditions. As a result, this on-site verification ensures Sulzer’s products meet stringent quality standards before delivery.

By carrying out testing and packaging locally, the company shortens lead times and enhances support. The Cuautitlán Izcalli campus already houses Sulzer’s manufacturing, service, and Chemtech operations. With this new facility, the site now offers a fully integrated solution. It covers the complete equipment lifecycle—from production to final packaging.
